Why CSA Love?

Who is CSA Love for?

Do you feel called to grow food for your community?

And you need that work to support your life financially?

Then, my friend, you’re in the right place.

CSA Love exists for one reason:
a CSA that isn’t profitable isn’t sustainable—no matter how good your intentions.

CSA Love is for new and beginning farmers who have a real dream—and who are serious about turning that dream into a profitable, sustainable CSA business without burning out, breaking down, or sacrificing their peace.

Who CSA Love Is For

CSA Love is for new farmers who want to love their CSA—and need it to be profitable.

It’s for:

Beginning CSA farmers
You’re early in the journey and realizing that growing food well is only part of the equation. Pricing, planning, labor, and systems matter just as much as soil health.

Growers who want a business—not a hobby
You care deeply about food, land, and community—and you also understand that profit is not optional. You want to be paid fairly for your time, labor, and risk.

Those standing at the edge of “Should I really do this?”
You don’t want hype or hustle. You want clear direction, realistic expectations, and practical guidance so you can move forward with confidence.

What CSA Love Stands For

Here’s the truth most new farmers aren’t told:

Profit is what makes a CSA sustainable—for the land, the farmer, and the family.

At CSA Love, we focus on:

  • Designing CSAs that make financial sense from the start
  • Planning crops, pricing, and labor intentionally
  • Building systems that protect your time, body, and energy
  • Supporting a calm life alongside a profitable farm business

This is not about working harder.
It’s about making better decisions earlier.

Who CSA Love Is Not For

CSA Love is not for:

  • High-scale, grow-at-all-costs operations
  • Hustle culture disguised as “passion”
  • Farming models that rely on exhaustion to be profitable

If you believe suffering is the price of legitimacy, this probably won’t resonate.

CSA Love is for farmers who want enough income, enough rest, and enough margin to stay in this work long term.

Why I Created CSA Love

I’ve been a profitable, certified organic CSA farmer for over 15 years. I didn’t get there by accident—and I didn’t get there by burning myself out.

What I learned is simple:

  • People want to support local farmers—but the farm has to be run well
  • Clear pricing, realistic planning, and strong systems matter
  • A calm, confident farmer makes better business decisions than an overwhelmed one

CSA Love exists to help new farmers shorten the learning curve and avoid the costly mistakes that lead to burnout or failure.
